Dr. Johnson received his doctorate in medicine at Louisiana State University in 1986. He completed his dermatology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in 1994 and subspecialty training in Immunodermatology at the University of Colorado in 2006. A Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, he is ABD-certified in both Dermatology and Immunodermatology. He practiced in the United States Air Force for 22 years, serving as Chief Dermatology Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General for five years, and retired at the rank of Colonel. He is a member of numerous professional organizations. He specializes in general and surgical dermatology, with special interests in skin cancer, Mohs Micrographic surgery, infectious diseases and inflammatory diseases (psoriasis, eczema, Lupus, autoimmune and similar disorders). Dr. Johnson is on active staff with St. Vincent Hot Springs and National Park Medical Center.
